CfP: International Convention on Science, Education and Medicine in Sport

The International Olympic Committee (IOC), International Paralympic Committee (IPC), International Federation of Sports Medicine (FIMS) and the International Council of Sport Science and Physical Education (ICSSPE) are proud to announce that their International Convention on Science, Education and Medicine in Sport will take place in at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre in Glasgow, Scotland just before the Opening Ceremonies for the 2012 Olympic Games. ICSEMIS is the largest sport science and medicine conference in the world attracting delegates from across the globe including researchers, students and practitioners who attend to share this unique opportunity for multi-and inter-disciplinary scientific exchange in the days leading up to the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The convention theme is: INSPIRING A LEARNING LEGACY, and the Sub-themes, designed to attract inter- and multi-disciplinary contributions and focused papers from all disciplines, are:

Elite Performance

Governance and Policy

International Sports Development and Management

Major Sporting Events

Pedagogy

Physical Activity and Health

Following the nominations of keynotes and parallel sessions from the IOC, IPC, FIMS, members of ICSSPE, and National and International bodies of sport we are opening the call for parallel sessions to all interested parties from every branch of sport and exercise.

We welcome your submission for parallel session (i.e. Symposium, Debate, Workshop, Meet the Expert, Master Class, Round table etc.) by 1 May, 2011. Submissions should be a maximum of 750 words including a title, brief synopsis of the session and full details of all proposed speakers. All submissions will be reviewed by the ICSEMIS 2012 Scientific Committee and decisions will be returned by 1 July, 2011.

We look forward to receiving your nominations for this world-leading convention which will take place just days prior to the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
