ISHPES is currently accepting applications for the 2012 Junior Scholar Award.

The ISHPES GIGLIOLA GORI JUNIOR SCHOLAR AWARD will be presented at the 2012 ISHPES Congress to be held in Rio de Janiero, Brazil from July 9-13, 2012.

In 2012 ISHPES will offer several grants from the GERD VON DER LIPPE JUNIOR SCHOLAR FUND to assist graduate students who present papers at the Congress.

Dr. Wray Vamplew is the winner of the 2011 ISHPES Award. Wray Vamplew’s career has been a succession of firsts on a truly international stage. In 1984 he became the first editor of Sporting Traditions, the journal of the Australian Society for Sports History (ASSH) in which he played a leading role from 1978.

Bieke Gils, a graduate student at the University of British Columbia, Canada, is the 2011 winner of the ISHPES Young Scholar Award.

The Shree Hanuman Vyayam Prasarak Mandal, premier Institute of Physical Education and Sports hosts the event under the auspices of National Association of Physical Education & Sports (NAPES-INDIA) as a part of its ‘CENTENARY’ celebration.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC), International Paralympic Committee (IPC), International Federation of Sports Medicine (FIMS) and the International Council of Sport Science and Physical Education (ICSSPE) are proud to announce that their International Convention on Science, Education and Medicine in Sport will take place in at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre in Glasgow, Scotland just before the Opening Ceremonies for the 2012 Olympic Games.
